More about TravelNeza

Our mission, vision, values, and the story of how we began.

01

Our mission

TravelNeza exists to make travel feel normal. Not a luxury. Not someday. Not for someone else. Just a normal, accessible part of living a full life — available to every East African who has ever thought the world was just slightly out of reach.

We make travel feel possible. For everyone. Right now.

Since 2016, we have been removing the barriers — financial, logistical, and psychological — that keep people from seeing the world. We do it through group travel with fixed departure dates, instalment payment options, human accountability at every step, and a community of travellers who go further together than they ever would alone.

We are not in the business of selling holidays. We are in the business of changing what people believe is possible for themselves.

02

Our vision

A future where every East African sees travel as a normal part of life — not a distant dream reserved for a privileged few.

We will have created more explorers, more connected people, more stories, and more belief that the world belongs to us too.

Ten years from now, success will not be measured by the size of TravelNeza as a company. It will be measured by how many people took their first trip because TravelNeza made it feel possible — how many families made memories they would not otherwise have made, and how many East Africans discovered that the world was always theirs to explore.

We open the world to East Africans. Starting with the continent at their doorstep.

What we stand for

01

We Make It Possible

The word we return to most is possible. Not affordable. Not budget-friendly. Possible. It says the world is open to you, and we will help you get there. Every product we build starts with one question: does this remove a barrier or create one?

02

We Are Accountable. Always.

When something goes wrong — and in travel, something always eventually goes wrong — we do not disappear. We pick up the phone. We fix it. We tell the truth. Accountability is not a value we aspire to; it is the minimum standard we hold ourselves to, every single day.

03

We Know Our Traveller. Completely.

The TravelNeza traveller is not a demographic. They are a person carrying real life — work, family, responsibilities — who believes life should be bigger than their routines. They want memories more than status, stories more than souvenirs. We design everything for them.

04

We Travel Better. Together.

Something happens in a group of strangers who travel together. Walls come down. Friendships form on game drives and over dinner in new cities. Travel is not just better together — it is more accessible, more meaningful, more transformative. The community is not a byproduct. It is the point.

05

We Do Not Compete On Price.

TravelNeza is not the cheapest option, and we are not trying to be. We compete on trust, curation, accountability, and the community we have spent ten years building. Our travellers come back three and four times because we delivered something no price comparison can capture.

How we began

Laura Kagame started TravelNeza because she wanted everyone around her to experience the joy of travel — to believe that they too could travel, that it wasn't just for a select few.

She didn't want to build a travel company. She wanted to change what people believed was possible for themselves.

Working in the airline industry in Uganda, Laura had spent years watching travel up close — and watching people hold themselves back from it. She kept hearing versions of the same thing: “One day I'll travel.” “It's too expensive.” “I don't know where to start.”

The barrier, she found, wasn't money. It was belief — the quiet, persistent idea that travel was something other people did, with different passports and different lives.

In December 2016, TravelNeza was born — not as a travel agency, but as an act of belief. A belief that East Africans deserved to see the world, and that with the right structure, community, and accountability, they could.

Ten years and more than 5,000 travellers later, that belief has become something real: a community, a company, and a track record built entirely on trust and word of mouth — a 70% referral rate and travellers who return three and four times.

TravelNeza is not the biggest travel company in East Africa. It is the most trusted one.
